Canada's Clean Tech Industry and the EDC

     Export Development Canada (EDC) has initiated a clean-tech strategy to assist that growth trajectory continues to support companies maintain access to much needed funding to progress their innovative new technologies. EDC's clean tech leadership was implemented to help Canadian tech industries connect with potential investors within China, the world's top funding country in renewable energy. Because of the fact clean tech is Canada's fastest growing industry.
     The EDC's approach works closely with federal governments, agencies, and organizations to pursue Canada's climate change agenda and to support the cleantech sector. Team members are knowledgeable and dedicated to understanding and supporting the unique needs of Canadian cleantech companies. Their focuses is directed towards finding companies whose tech are in the beginner commercialization stage and finding solutions that will partner them with private sectors.
    "Clean tech is Canada’s fastest-growing industry and perhaps its best-kept secret. According to Ottawa-based Analytica Advisors, which tracks and benchmarks the space, clean tech currently consists of about 700 companies in Canada, employing 41,000 people and generating $11.3-billion annually. Most of these companies are exporters, with 52% of sales outside of Canada and 42% outside of the U.S" (Bitti, 2014). From the academic book. The Entrepreneurial State, it explains the term "entrepreneurship" as a "new product, or a new process, or a new market for an existing product or process" (Mazzucato, 64). 
Q: From your understanding of the EDC and Mazzucato's explanation of "entrepreneurship", do you believe the emphasis on cleantech and amount of resources Canada has invested into this industry will become a necessity for countries to pursue in years to come? If so please explain why with evidence?
