Recently, Apple launched their first ever
computer with the Touch Bar feature which was said to be unsuccessful. However,
as time has passed more applications have become available to support the Touch
Bar thus significantly improving. The concept itself continues to belong to
Apple – however, with any innovation, there are still issues in regards to
stability and being finicky, it is slowly proving to be the product Apple
envisioned it to be. Most recently, Spotify collaborated and created an app
that allows users of the music program to change the song via the Touch Bar
rather than actually having to open the browser and click the “skip button”.
Therefore, the Touch Bar integration is most beneficial and limited to
shortcuts which are proving to become more and more popular through the
advancement and popularity of technology. This article specifically related to
a reading by David Stark, entitled Heterarchy: the Organization of Dissonance”.
Stark argues that companies are unaware of their next and upcoming products but
rather the exploration fundamental are which organize future creations. Thus,
these components expressed by Stark visually, not only with the Apple Touch Bar
and the Apple brand in general but more specifically the booming tech industry.
With this being one small example of the
evolution of the technology, do you think that the exploration and making of
new inventions will slow down? Or do you believe that with the constantly
growing tech industry, all the new upcoming startups etc., the industry will
stay consistent or begin to move more rapidly? Why or why not?
discusses the evolution of Apple’s laptops,
from the PowerBook to the MacBook Pro. Apple is a great example as their
products are constantly changing and it is rare to meet someone without an
iPad, iPhone, iPod, Apple watch or Macbook. Once reading this, reflect on
yourself and the evolution of Apple products you’ve purchased over the years –
think about the difference between your iPhone 4 and your current iPhone 7. Why
are the technological advances and what else us to come?
