Plug and Play Launches 9 New Accelorator Programs

Plug and Play is a global innovation platforms that connects start-ups to corporations in addition  to investing in companies. This platform has 22 locations across the world and this company calls themselves “Silicon Valley in a Box”. Just recently, the Plug and Play announced that they will host 175 start-ups, all which belong to different industry segments. This accelerator program is one of the biggest in the world due to their success rates, corporate partnerships, and investment capital. Connecting this to course readings, Spigel (2014) suggests that social attributes involve the resources collected through social networks within the region (p. 53). With that in mind, social networks are important as they allow for a circulation of relevant knowledge, investment opportunities, skilled labours and mentors. This accelerator program is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs in addition to reproducing an innovation culture around the world.
